Tax & Bookkeeping Associate

Our client, a well-established family run Investment Firm, is seeking a Tax & Bookkeeping Associate to join their thriving and efficient team! The successful candidate will be accountable for assisting with a compilation of investment and tax reporting and maintaining accurate and detailed accounting records. The Tax and Bookkeeping Associate will have a combination of strong interpersonal skills and proficient abilities in Excel and Accounting software. If you are excellent at prioritizing and have at least 5 years experience in an Accounting and Bookkeeping environment, then we want to hear from you!


  • Provide assistance with compilation of investment and tax reporting, including year-end working paper files for tax compliance
  • Preparation of monthly and yearly financials – balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate and detailed accounting records for all investments including stocks, funds, trusts, limited partnerships
  • Review annual investment fund and limited partnership tax package for each holding
  • Perform reconciliation for tax purposes of investment transactions, adjusted cost bases, realized/unrealized gains and losses, income, and expenses
  • Recording bank and investment transactions using accounting software
  • Various administrative duties, including filing, mailing, photocopying, scanning, and maintenance of well-organized files


  • Accounting degree or certificate – university or other
  • Minimum five years of Bookkeeping/Accounting experience with an emphasis on tax and investment reporting
  • In depth knowledge (including accounting & tax reporting) of financial investment structures, specifically investment funds, trusts, and limited partnerships
  • Knowledge of investment holding companies required
  • Experienced with accounting software (Quickbooks and Caseware knowledge);
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is a must
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good letter writing skills
  • Good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a consistently fast-paced environment
