Project Assistant
Location: Toronto
Duration: 4 months with potential to extend/go permanent
Compensation: up to $30.00/hr
 

Our client, a construction firm and leader in the industry, is looking for a Project Assistant to join their team! The ideal candidate will have construction project coordination experience and assist the Project Manager and Site Manager with overall project performance. If you have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to be detail-oriented and have previous project experience, this may be the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

  • Organize and administer Project Managers’ calendar
  • Participate in RPI process
  • Receive and advise Project Manager on incoming communication when advised 
  • Administer all correspondence received on the project and highlight important issues to the team  
  • Prepare and maintain project files, Notice of Project, templates and logs and all necessary project documentation
  •  Ensure copies of minutes and logs are provided to Project Manager
  • Assist project team in distribution of necessary project communication 
  • Prepare shop drawing log, working estimates, specifications, schedules and anticipated dates
  • Prioritize, monitor and confirm expediates submittals, materials and written and inspection delivery 
  • Maintain log and change order templates
  • Distribute change documentation and approvals to trades, vendors, accounting, service and other necessary individuals
  • Prioritize, monitor and expediate changes on an ongoing basis to meet the construction schedule
  • Resolve with team, any issues related to shop drawing reviews / comments / coordination 
  • Assist SM in preparation and distribution of deficiency logs
  • Assist SM to assemble and distribute commissioning and occupancy documentation
  • Prepare manuals for Project Manager
  • Set up and maintain tracking record of required documentation and forward documentation to necessary teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of construction project experience
  • Experience with Zoho considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access
  • Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
