Our client, one of the five leading Canadian banks, is looking for an Onboarding Officer (Banking) to join our Toronto team for a 1 year contract!

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 10 am - 6 pm (must be flexible to work over-time)

Job Description:

This role is responsible for the day to day activities of the Onboarding Team functions including the accurate data entry of sales applications, detailed quality assessment of data entered and the creation of various work orders. Clear and concise communication between the sales force and merchant delivery teams will drive success in the role. This role carries with it an expectation to achieve certain productivity targets with high levels of accuracy. The onboarding officer will support the Onboarding Manager as well as fellow colleagues as required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute day-to-day tasks associated with Triage, Fulfillment, POS Orders, device swaps and card add functions
  • Ensure monthly targets are met with the continued desire to improve accuracy and productivity
  • Enter data with a high level of accuracy, paying close attention to multiple data entry fields on a daily basis
  • Communicate information deficiencies and/or inaccuracies in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Perform a quality check on colleague's data entry and report inaccuracies in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships and partnerships internally & externally
  • Work closely with the Onboarding Manager to supply support as a SME on various projects and initiatives impacting the MET Merchant Onboarding Team
  • Adhere to guidelines established by internal risk/compliance advisors and external regulators and complete all QC activities assigned to this role
  • Contribute to the team's success through continuous cross training and by displaying a supportive and positive attitude
  • Onboarding group for sale teams support inside and outside sales team, take application and process it into the system- this is where the data entry would be involved. Once the order is live we would dispatch the worker to complete the task

Job Requirements:

  • Customer service skills (will responding to emails)
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal and written)
  • Able to learn from mistakes and open to feedback
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks
  • Computer savvy (i.e. Use short key on keyboards s and navigate windows)
  • Able to pick up an application, and have a good memory
  • Knowledge on different employment statuses (ie. Organizational structure, SP, Inc., T4)
  • Payment processing knowledge (point of sale devices, payment solution services)
  • An excellent eye for detail with the ability to remain engaged on steps involving high levels of repetition and/or subtle variances


  • University/College education
  • New grads welcomed
  • 5+ years of Data Entry experience (enter information quickly & accurately into a digital format; will involve checking for inaccuracies)
