Office Manager – Contract
Location: Downtown Toronto
Duration: 1-Year Maternity Leave Contract
Compensation: $25 per hour
Our client, a global biotechnology company, is looking for an Office Manager to join their team for a 1-year, maternity leave contract. The Office Manager is responsible for providing high-level administrative support for a large, multi-department office located in Downtown Toronto. If you are an experienced administrative professional who is  comfortable with work that is complex and non-routine in nature, requiring independent decision making and interpretation of significant policies and processes and situations, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!
  • Serve as point of contact for all office related vendors
  • Manage all employee equipment, office supplies, car fleet & office maintenance  
  • Coordinate staff relocation 
  • Coordinate internal interviews
  • Prepare and implement on-boarding
  • Serves as a point of contact for any administrative issue or question (vacations, benefits, payroll etc.)
  • Prepare and monitor the budget
  • Collect, review and resolve vendor invoices
  • Manage the contract process 
    • Draft contracts
    • Request sponsorship
    • Serve as a point of contact for procurement
  • Coordinate multiple, on-going conferences, nationally and internationally, and high-level committee meetings
  • Coordinate and manage both internal and external events
  • Responsible for providing support to the Compliance department 
  • Responsible for training of new administrative staff
  • Manage and assign tasks accordingly to other administrative staff
  • B.A. (or equivalent degree) and/or 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in working within the pharmaceutical/medical industries
  • Experience in managing office/facility management matters
  • Exercise sound, independent judgment to regularly handle new and complex situations
  • Proven ability to successfully handle multiple, high urgency, requests in a reliable manner
  • High level of flexibility and a strong team worker
  • Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of company operations, policies and procedures
  • Displays exemplary organizational skills to maintain order and stability throughout function
