Our Client, one of the five leading Canadian banks is looking for a Mortgage Operations Officer to join our Toronto team for a 1 year contract!

Pay Rate: $22.00/hour (Paid Weekly)
Contract Duration: 1 year with the possibility of extension
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Must have good credit history and clear criminal record

Job Description:

This role will report directly to the Manager, Arm's length mortgage, and will be part of the team responsible for the RESL and Legal needs of the Self Directed Mortgages team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the investigation and facilitation of complex client resolutions around real estate secured lending and complex mortgage situations
  • Support the daily functions of the Self Directed Mortgages team including but not limited to the following:
  • Preparation of mortgage/legal documents
  • Escalate processing issues where necessary to ensure a high level of service is maintained
  • Serve clients as required- adhere to Service Level Agreements(SLA) and internal services and delivery standards
  • Mortgage documentation interpretation
  • Any required administrative functions as pertain to the management of the Self Directed Mortgages team
  • Work effectively as an independent contributor and provide direction to team on ways to achieve project / business objectives while documenting and assessing risk, complexity and compliance using available resources/tools
  • Support and contribute to a work environment that promotes Legendary customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork
  • Ensure adherence to all HR policies, other Bank, and Industry Codes of Conduct

Job Requirements:

  • Real Estate secured lending knowledge an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and tactfully
  • Good Judgement with excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational, follow up and priority setting skills to handle multiple tasks/projects
  • Self-motivated and demonstrates a thirst for knowledge
  • A logical thinker, demonstrates strong business acumen
  • High degree of attention to detail with an ability to see the "big picture" and to articulate essential facts
  • Proven ability to work effectively with teams and individually
  • Demonstrated ability to take independent action to achieve results
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel) Asset
  • Knowledge of Legislated Products an asset
  • Knowledge of ISM and SIT systems an asset
  • Must be flexible with working hours as circumstances may require availability to work beyond "regular operating hours"


  • University Degree preferred
  • 2 years experience in real estate secured lending/mortgages/lines of credit
  • ISM Experience
  • 2 years experience in Mortgage or lending products
