Legal Assistant (Business Law)
Salary Ranging From $65-70K + Benefits + 3 Weeks' Vacation
Our client, a well-respected law firm with a presence across Canada seeks a Legal Assistant to support very busy Lawyers in the Business Law department, in their Downtown Toronto office. As a Legal Assistant in the Business Law group, you will provide general administrative support, monitor calendars and correspondence, and draft/revise legal documents. If you are an enthusiastic Legal Assistant with excellent organizational skills and experience in supporting busy lawyers, then we would like to hear from you!!
Responsibilities:
- Manage and prepare calendars for appointments and arrange for travel arrangements
- Filter incoming calls and mail and follow up on requests
- Manage full cycle procedures and firm processes (i.e. file openings, credit limits, invoices, collections, etc.)
- Draft/revise/proofread legal documents and correspondence
- Coordinate all travel arrangements, including air, hotel, ground transportation and meal reservations
- Schedule, organize and prepare/coordinate materials for meetings/trials (presentations, reports, etc.)
- Ensure follow-up on activities, files and outstanding items with direct reports
- Filter incoming calls and mail and follow up on requests
- Prioritize and adjust priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Five to seven years of experience as a Business/ Corporate Legal Assistant
- Post-secondary education in business or a related field
- Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
- Excellent ability to work well under pressure and multi-task, in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Outstanding organizational skills with superior attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a professional and positive attitude
