Environmental Project Coordinator/Environmental Specialist

Salary up to $70,000 + Vacation + Benefits!!!

Our client, a leader in the real estate field, is seeking an Environmental Project Coordinator/Environmental Specialist to join their team! In this newly created role, the successful candidate will support the Vice President and assist with ESG and EWRB reports, environmental site assessment, and consistently communicate and coordinate with consultants, tenants, and contractors. If you are an individual that possesses excellent organization, communication, and analytical skills as well as 1-2 years of experience as an environmental specialist or similar role in a consulting firm, then we would like to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the central resource to compile information into an ESG report that is produced annually and tracked monthly
  • Support senior management, property managers, consultants with ESG reporting by accurately reviewing and analyzing incoming information
  • Identify/assess any discrepancies in ESG reporting and accordingly resolve with consultants
  • Promote reduction achievements, retrofit programs, and Certifications such as LEED or BOMA BEST
  • Participate in Environmental Site Assessments in Phase I, II, III
  • Coordinate and communicate with tenants, consultants, and contractors (onsite meetings, over the phone, and written communication) regarding action plan and timelines
  • Coordinate and communicate with consultants for reporting of water and energy consumption to Ministry for EWRB report
  • Analyze EWRB report and evaluations of findings to develop recommendations
  • Document and follow up with tenants on any environmental issues identified onsite

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences
  • 1-2 years of experience as environmental specialist or similar role in a consulting firm
  • Knowledge of Phase 1 and 2 of Environmental Site Assessments
  • Above average skills in Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Valid Ontario G license and vehicle with the ability to travel
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills
  • General knowledge of LEED, CDP and GRESB
  • Basic remediation and HAZMAT knowledge
