Our client, a top-5 Canadian bank, is looking for Data Entry Officers (Service Officer I & II) to fill multiple positions.

Locations: Markham / North York – Corporate Offices
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5:00pm
Contract Duration: 3 months to 1-year w. possibility of extension (Job-Dependent)
Pay Rate: $16.25 - $18/hr (depending on position)


Job Summary: The main function of a Service Officer is to operate data entry devices, such as a keyboard or computer, to verify and input data. A typical Service Officer is responsible for accurate information documentation and personal project management.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Read source documents such as canceled checks, sales reports, or bills, and enter data in specific data fields or onto tapes or disks for subsequent entry, using keyboards or scanners
  • Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered
  • Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors
  • Compare data with source documents, or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors

Job Qualifications:

  • Data entry speed and efficiency (must be able to type 50 wpm)
  • Previous 1-2 years experience in a Data-Entry role
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel (navigate spreadsheets and do formulas)
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and a quick learner
  • Previous banking experience is a huge asset
  • VBA knowledge an asset


  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Completion of the CSC or IFIC is an asset
