Position:   Corporate Recruiter/ Administrator
Location:  Etobicoke, Finch & 427 area
Hours:      8 to 4:30 0r 8:30 to 5pm
Salary:      $45K to $55K depending on experience, plus benefits

Our client, a Canadian-based manufacturer and supplier of building products, has an exciting opportunity for an Corporate Recruiter/ Administrator.  They currently have four manufacturing facilities and many sales centres across Canada which provide leading services to the North American architectural and building market. This versatile position will focus on Recruitment and Administrative activities with opportunities to grow in other HR functions and areas.   We are looking for an eager HR professional with a superior work attitude and ethic to do whatever it takes to accomplish tasks big or small, as part of this dynamic team; reporting directly to the HR Generalist.

Job Highlights:
Recruitment
  • Full cycle recruitment of junior to intermediate level permanent roles plus hourly roles in the plant and warehouse
  • Schedule intake meetings with hiring managers to collect their department job requirements, understanding their hiring needs and ‘fit’
  • Manage candidate experience via the resume database; reviewing/ screening and responding accordingly to resumes; basic recruitment & selection duties
  • Schedule and conduct interviews independently as required
  • Short listing candidates and making recommendations to management on top candidates
  • Liaise with temp agencies as needed to coordinate agency hires
  • Assist with streamlining recruitment processes that have been established

Administration/Coordination

  • Create new hire kits and assist with orientation
  • Filing and data entry duties
  • Coordinate HR / H&S training
  • Oversee administrative tasks that are part of day to day for HR
  • Assist as needed with a variety of H&S tasks
  • Lead or assist with small HR driven projects
    • ADP registration for pay statement review
    • Represent HR in social committee
    • File, purge and clean up
    • Assist with HR Audits
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies
  • Respond to employee benefit program questions / assist with trouble shooting
  • Employee relations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree, HR Management and a minimum of 5 years’ Recruitment experience
  • Exposure to an industrial, manufacturing environment is ideal
  • Good knowledge of general HR procedures and practices including but not limited to:  HRIS administration, handling of confidential or sensitive information, recruitment, employee records, and benefit administration.
  • Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation; format moderately complex correspondence, including memos, emails, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with productivity applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail clients, and presentation software
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with the ability to find solutions and incorporate them into existing practices
  • Must be proactive in ensuring job knowledge is current; i.e. legislation
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Self-directed, well organized, and proactive
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Professional demeanor, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate on all levels in the organization

Working Conditions

  • Sitting for extensive period of time
  • Ability to attend and/or conduct presentations
  • Will be required to wear protective equipment in designated areas such as: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toed safety shoes from time to time
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • May have minimal exposure to heat and humidity, load noise levels and dust, from time to time
  • Overtime as required
