Bookkeeping/Payroll Assistant

Our Client, a public service transportation provider, is looking for a Bookkeeping/Payroll Assistant  (City of Toronto) to start immediately

Hours: 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Start: October to December 2019
Department: Payroll Service Dept. 
Location: GTA
Pay: $18.00-20.00/hour

Responsibilities: 
Performing a variety of administrative functions related to payroll and attendance management
Reviewing documents (ex. Record of Employees Off Duty, Other Special Duties) for completeness and accuracy in accordance with regulations/practices
Entering, validating and correcting payroll system reports and transactions
Maintaining database/filing systems of documents
Following up for information with other departments
Providing administrative assistance to staff
Other related administrative duties as assigned

Requirements: 
Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree combined with related work experience
Good knowledge of payroll administration guidelines and applicable laws and regulations
Knowledge of SAP / SuccessFactors is an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills and communication skills (oral and written)
