Our environmentally cautious client in the Natural Resources sector is looking for an experienced U.S. Payroll Administrator at their Oshawa location. The ideal candidate will have 5 years working experience along with knowledge of 401K remittances. The U.S. Payroll Administrator will report directly to the U.S. Controller and oversee payroll for several employees throughout the United States.


  • Responsible for processing a weekly U.S. payroll for several U.S. locations
  • Tracking eligibility and providing information on benefit plans, adding to and maintaining employee profiles on various benefit websites
  • Responsible for weekly 401k remittances, and monthly remittances for local taxes, health insurance, union dues, etc.
  • Point of contact for U.S. locations regarding payroll and benefit issues, and escalating issues to management
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining employee files and handling confidential information
  • Assisting in the month end process through data entry, keying of journal entries and report generation
  • Responsible for year-end process, overseeing creation of W2 reports, as well as year-end auditing procedures and reconciliations
  • Point of contact for external audit requests. Responding to the and compiling information through reports, timecards, employee information, and tax reports


  • 5+ years of payroll experience
  • U.S. Payroll Processing experience is required
  • Previous Accounting and account reconciliation experience
  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a business program with minimum PCP payroll certification is required
  • Experience with ADP, PCPW, and ADP Workforce Now considered a strong asset
  • Ability to work across multiple payroll systems with accuracy and efficiency
  • Strong Analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze payroll information, make decisions, and problem solve
  • Organized, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and as well as part of a team
