Our client is looking for a Shipper/Receiver to join their team on a temporary to permanent basis in their warehouse in Markham! The Shipper/Receiver will assist the Laminator with manufacturing of specific products. They will be required to prepare bills of lading and coordinate all warehouse paperwork while maintaining an orderly workspace. Additionally, they will have the ability to interface with Customer Service personnel to ensure orders are processed correctly. If you are detail oriented, adaptable and work well with minimal supervision, this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Pack, seal and label materials to prepare for shipping
  • Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations and standards to complete appropriate documentation.
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials
  • Prepare necessary documents from computer systems such as packing slips
  • Record shipment data for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes
  • Contact carriers to make arrangements for shipping and pick up of materials
  • Confer and correspond with establishment reps to rectify problems, shortages, damages, etc.
  • Order and store shipping supplies to maintain stock inventory
  • Maintain shipping and receiving area
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments
  • Provide feedback on efficiency of shipping/receiving process
  • Work with the Laminator in the manufacture of specific products
  • Provide back-up to the Laminator if and when required
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining the Laminating machine

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, general education degree or equivalent
  • 1+ year of shipping and receiving experience a plus
  • Proficient with forklifts, pallet jackets and other material handling equipment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Procedures
  • Ability to type
