Policy Analyst

Location: Toronto

Duration: 4 month contract

Compensation: up to $25 an hour

 

Our client, a Ministry in the Public Sector, is seeking a RFS Policy Analyst to join their team for a 4-month contract. Within this role you will be responsible for providing information research, collection and analysis services in support of reviewing legal language in collective agreements. Responsibilities

  • Provides information research, collection and analysis services in support of reviewing legal language in collective agreements
  • Maintain organization and perform project and issue management activities
  • Conducts research, collection, and interpretation of information and data, and prepares taxonomy to present findings
  • Compile tables, charts, exhibits for a variety of regular research reports summarizing data and trends
  • Process data using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access to conduct basic analyses of trends
  • Collect data from research staff and format into draft reports
  • Execute changes to report material based on checking input
  • Be alert to developments in the effective display of data and qualitative information
  • Participate, as required, in the development of other material that displays the ministry’s research findings

Qualifications

  • College diploma or undergraduate degree in information technology, business, corporate communications or a related discipline
  • Strong analysis and synthesis skills to identify/ highlight patterns in legal language in various sectors
  • Thorough knowledge of data/information management methods and data analysis software applications (eg. SAS, BOXI)
  • Ability to translate complex findings into material that can be understood by a diverse audience
  • Knowledge of provincial labour legislation such as the Labour Relations Act, and economics
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sense of responsibility for deadlines and deliverables
  • An ability to make progress on multiple fronts
  • The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
