Event Coordinator – Lab Equipment and Supplies

Salary: $45,000 – 50,000 Base Salary

Our client is a full solutions provider of laboratory equipment with an emphasis on molecular biology. Due to expansion, they are looking to add an Event Coordinator to their team. This role is supporting the marketing efforts by managing their monthly symposiums hosted across North America. This position would also cover social media marketing initiatives.


  • Reporting to the General Manager, your role is to manage logistics behind their client hosting symposiums held across educational and institutional venues in North America
  • In collaboration with other vendors/suppliers in the laboratory equipment and supplies sector, thought leaders will be invited to speak at these hosted events.
  • Venues locations are typically provided by universities, colleges and other institutions within the biological sciences community; you will be required to confirm availability and capacity
  • Manage all catering, audio-visual requirements, and logistics associated with event location bookings
  • Guest Speaker target lists will be provided by the executive management team
  • Coordination of stakeholder involvement, including speaker acquisition and management, sponsorship programs, and guest registration
  • Symposium participant planning, invitations, involvement and post event evaluation
  • Maintenance of all data and records pertaining to attendance
  • Marketing material and collateral preparation, summaries and briefs
  • Act as primary client service representative for all events
  • Maintain and develop social media marketing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other outlets
  • Assist in developing sales opportunities by researching potential leads


  • Post-Secondary degree, preference for Biological Sciences
  • Minimum 1 year of agency or corporate experience in event or tradeshow management
  • Social media marketing management experience
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Strong track record of success and customer service excellence
  • Advanced computer skills: MS Office, Adobe, online and web based marketing experience (Internet and e-mail publishing, enrollment, tracking)
  • Exceptional customer service skills with proactive behaviour and prioritization
  • Ability to consistently learn, adapt and improve processes and following a logical pattern of continuous improvement


  • Base salary range of $45,000 – 50,000 (commensurate upon experience)
