Database Analyst (7 Month Contract)

 Our client is a Canada- based financial services company and is one of Canada’s most prestigious companies to work for. The  Risk Management Systems & Support group's Non-Retail Data Integration team is seeking a Database Analyst to support maintenance on multiple legacy applications. The main function of a Database Analyst / Programmer is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
  • Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications

Must Have Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, business or related field required.
  • Overall 5-7 years experience as a Database Analyst/Developer/Programmer
  • Sybase & Stored procedures (5-7 years experience)
  • Unix (3-5 years experience)
  • Golden Gate (3-5 years experience)
  • Unix shell scripting (1-3 years experience)
  • F/I Banking industry experience
